What you need
- An iPhone or iPad with iOS 26 or later, or a Mac with Apple silicon.
- To sync: a TriliumNext server, version 0.95 or later, that your device can reach. Without one you can keep notes on the device and connect a server later.
Getting started
- Open Triquid Notes and choose Connect to Trilium.
- Enter the address you use in your browser, for example
https://notes.example.com, and your Trilium password. Two-factor codes and single sign-on are supported. - Or choose Start without a server: notes stay on this device, and you can connect a server later in Settings. Your notes come along.
Common problems
“The app cannot reach my server”
Check that the address opens in Safari on the same device. For a server on your home network, allow Local Network access: Settings → Privacy & Security → Local Network → Triquid Notes.
“Are my changes saved when I’m offline?”
Yes. Edits are kept on the device and sent to the server when you are back online. The sync status is shown at the bottom of the sidebar.
“A clipped link only shows the title”
Some news sites show a cookie notice before the article. Triquid Notes then opens the page: accept the notice and tap the scissors. The next link from that site clips straight away.
“How do I reorder notebooks?”
Drag notebooks into place in the menu; the order is saved in Trilium. Drop a note on the middle of a notebook to move it there.
“How do I change the home screen on iPad?”
Go to Settings → Home Screen. Switch sections on or off and drag them into the order you want; it syncs to your other devices through iCloud. Tap Triquid Notes at the top of the menu to go back to the home screen.
“How do I reorder or sort my notebooks?”
Drag a notebook onto the upper or lower part of another to put it above or below it (a line shows where), or onto the middle to move it inside; the new position is saved in Trilium, so your other devices and Trilium in the browser show the same order. Tap the sort button next to Notebooks and choose Title to let Trilium keep them alphabetical (it sets the #sorted label on your root note).
“Where are Find To-dos and Suggest Title?”
Open a note and tap •••. Find To-dos lists the action items in the note and adds them as a checklist; Suggest Title proposes a title you can apply with one tap. Both need Apple Intelligence turned on and run on your device.
“How do I use Writing Tools?”
Edit a note, select some text and choose Writing Tools in the menu that appears: proofread, rewrite, summarize, or turn the text into a list or a table.
“My server is missing on my other device”
Servers you sign in to are offered on your other devices through iCloud (Settings › Sync settings, servers & recents with iCloud). Open the app on the device that is signed in once, wait a minute, then open the sign-in screen on the other. Passwords are never shared; sign in once on each device.
